We still have open time slots!

Posted: 14-Sep-2007 @ 10:55PM

We still have several open time slots for the candy sales tomorrow!  Wal-Mart matches all of our profits so we would really like to do well here so we get even more funding for our event filled year.  The more we have in the bank, the more we can afford for all of our events during the year!

Recruting drive

Posted: 27-Aug-2007 @ 11:20AM

Each year we have an event to bring new members into Pack 4 to enjoy the Scouting experience.  This year it is on Saturday, September 8th.  My request to you is two-fold.

First, we need your Scout's support to man the event, and talk to the prospective Scouts. ¦We will also be doing candy sales.  Even if you can't attend the entire event, an hour or two is helpful. ¦If you can't attend, that is ok, since we need help with candy sales at local stores this month!
The event is scheduled:

7:30 AM - Set up
8:00 AM - Event starts, candy sales start
12:00 PM - Event closes, clean-up starts
12:30 PM - Completed

Secondly, think about the families that you know, and who might enjoy the Scouting experience.  Invite them to attend the event on that Saturday, the campfire event on Friday, September 22nd, or invite them to the first Pack meeting on September 26th!  There is nothing like word of mouth advertising.

Candy Sales in September

Posted: 27-Aug-2007 @ 11:20AM

Our 2007 - 2008 Scouting year is about to begin.  This means we will also be doing our annual Candy Sales.  You should have seen the email from our Cubmaster on this already but just in case, here is what he said:

Unfortunately, Scouting is not free.  To keep your fees low, we need to do fund raising.  My preference is to get this over with as soon as possible so we don't have to think about it for the rest of the year.  We also break up the sales between family responsibility and sales at local stores to ease the burden.  This year, we are doing most of the store sales before the first Pack meeting to get them over with.  If we are very successful, this will reduce the amount that the families will need to sell.  The events are tentatively planned as:

September 15
Wal-Mart - 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
St. Mary's Credit Union - TBD
September 22
Hudson Post Office - 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Robinson's Hardware - 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
September 29
Stop & Shop - 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

We are also planning on doing Pumpkinfest this year, and that tends to be a very successful event!

We are asking families to respond back to us (directly to Steve or via your Den Leader) by Wednesday, 5-Sep-2007 so that we can see what sales we can properly cover.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact either your Den Leader or Steve.  You can find any email addresses or phone numbers on our Pack contact list here).  Thank you for your support of Pack 4!

Since 1930, the Boy Scouts of America has helped younger boys through Cub Scouting.  It is a year-round family program designed for boys who are in the first grade through fifth grade (or at least 7, 8, 9, and 10 years of age).  Parents, leaders, and organizations work together to achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting.  Pack 4 is a very family-oriented pack, and emphasizes building confidence and great lifetime memories in the boys.  We participate in a whole range of activities throughout the year that focus on citizenship, service, character development, personal achievement, fun and adventure!  We hope you'll join us!
